Chocolate Mousse for a Greedy Goose – By Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Nick Sharratt
Join in the fun at this delicious dinner party, where good manners are not on the menu! Duck will not eat his carrots. Moth is eating the cloth, and Sheep would rather sleep than wash the dishes. Thank goodness, some of the animals know how to behave. Even the smallest toddler will enjoy the wonderfully silly animal antics in this book -- you have never been to a dinner party like it!
The children are enjoying all the different snacks that have been coming in this week, thank you for your contributions.
We have had huge carrots, a pineapple, peppers, apples, pears and homegrown tomatoes. We don’t always like the same fruit and vegetables as our friends but we talk about different tastes and if children want to explore new things, they can.
“Cheese comes from the fridge!” Understanding the world and learning where our food comes from is also part of snack time.
Children help chop and cut the snacks up, using their fine motor skills to prepare the food for everyone to share. They help themselves using a spoon and carry their plates by themselves to the tables, developing their independence and making their own choices.
Children count how many cups they need for their table for milk, using their mathematical skills.
